Summary

SO You! does not require an account. The app collects the information needed to run multiplayer rooms, process optional purchases, show ads in the free experience, and save personality card images when you choose to do so.

Information We Collect

Game room information

When you create or join a room, SO You! stores room codes, player names, player IDs, player colors, room settings, connection status, round state, questions, answers, guesses, scores, and related timestamps. This information is used to keep the game in sync for everyone in the room.

Personality card information

If personality cards are generated, SO You! may process player names, questions, answers, guesses, and round summaries to create the cards. Generated card text may be stored with the room so players can view the results.

Purchase information

Optional purchases are handled by Apple through StoreKit. SO You! may store purchase-related entitlement details, such as product ID, transaction ID, player name, game ID, final results ID, and unlock time, so purchased features can be restored or recognized in the app.

Photos permission

SO You! asks for add-only Photos access only when you choose to save a generated personality card image to your photo library. The app does not read your existing photo library.

Ads and device information

The free experience may show ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect device, advertising, usage, and diagnostic information to deliver, measure, and improve ads according to Google's policies.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

Create, join, sync, and restore multiplayer rooms.
Show prompts, answers, guesses, scores, results, and personality cards.
Support optional paid features and purchase restoration.
Save personality card images when you request it.
Show ads in the free experience.
Respond to support requests and troubleshoot app issues.

SO You! uses third-party service providers to operate the app. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services:

Supabase, for room storage, room sync, and backend functions.
OpenAI, for generating optional personality card text from game context.
Apple, for App Store purchases and purchase restoration.
Google AdMob, for ads in the free experience.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the app and its users, or as part of a business transfer.

Data Retention and Deletion

Game room information and generated personality card results are kept as long as needed to operate rooms, restore results, support purchases, and maintain the service. You can request deletion of room or purchase unlock data by emailing support with the room code, player name, and any other details that help identify the data.

Your Choices

You can play without creating an account.
You can avoid sharing sensitive information in player names or answers.
You can decline Photos permission and still use the app.
You can manage purchases and subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
You can manage ad personalization through your device and Apple privacy settings.

Children and Teens

SO You! is a casual party game and is not intended to collect more information than is needed to run the game. Players should not enter sensitive personal information in names or answers. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided personal information and wants it deleted, please contact us.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect information, including HTTPS connections to backend services. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid putting private or sensitive information into game answers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as SO You! changes. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page.
